Gloomhold is a survival-based dark fantasy tabletop roleplaying game designed to be driven primarily by narrative. Built on the 3Core system and its Imagination First philosophy, the dice mechanics are deliberately streamlined—prioritizing attacks met with active defense rather than static armor ratings, and placing narrated consequences above complex rules and mechanical overhead.

Drawn from the mortal world of 13th century England, Crusaders cross into the Veil—a realm akin to Purgatory—where the city of Gloomhold does not remain still. Districts shift, structures defy logic, and places both familiar and foreign are altered by corruption and decay. Survival is uncertain, and stability is an illusion. Crusaders must navigate a city that resists permanence while confronting Remnants, lost souls trapped in the Veil, domineering Tyrants, and enduring a reality that actively works against them as they try to restore balance, recover artifacts or purge evil at its roots.

3Core is built to make room for imagination. Actions are resolved quickly, allowing players to describe what they do rather than choose from rigid options. Combat is fast, dangerous, and driven by intent—not locked into scripted sequences or exhaustive rule interactions.
